{"id":149,"date":"2020-03-07T09:35:07","date_gmt":"2020-03-07T13:35:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepridhamgroup.mydev.ca\/mapsws\/?page_id=149"},"modified":"2020-10-13T11:58:09","modified_gmt":"2020-10-13T14:58:09","slug":"about-new-boots","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/nb-map.ca\/fr\/new-boots\/about-new-boots\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00c0 propos Nouvelles Bottes"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>\n\t\tGirls &#038; Women\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>New Boots: Progressing Women in Trades is a provincial network and resource hub that aims to <strong>promote<\/strong>, <strong>support <\/strong>and <strong>mentor <\/strong>women in non-traditional skilled trades sectors such as: construction, maintenance, manufacturing, automotive, truck and transport and forestry.<\/p>\n<p>New Boots started in 2015 as a pilot project research initiative which followed 18 female apprentices across 9 skilled trades. The goal of the project was to better understand the challenges women face when entering a non-traditional skilled trade, to promote skilled trades as a viable career option for women and increase the participation of women in non-traditional skilled trades apprenticeships in New Brunswick. Due to the success of this pilot project, New Boots was developed into the provincial network it is known as today.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nb-map.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/NEWBOOTS-Logo.png\" alt=\"New-Boots-Logo\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"222\" width=\"424\" title=\"New-Boots-Logo\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t<p>NEW BOOTS: A term commonly used in the construction industry to describe new apprentices on a job site.<\/p>\n<h3>\n\t\tNew Boots is a network &#038; resource hub for girls and\/or women who are either:\n\t<\/h3>\n\t<ul>\n<li>Considering a career in a non-traditional skilled trade<\/li>\n<li>\u00cates inscrites comme apprenties<\/li>\n<li>A student enrolled in a skilled trades pre-employment program<\/li>\n<li>\u00cates une compagne certifi\u00e9e<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\n\t\tNew Boots services include:\n\t<\/h3>\n\t<ul>\n<li>Connection to a network of females working in skilled trades<\/li>\n<li>Mentoring from experienced tradeswomen<\/li>\n<li>Resources, tools and\/or referrals to appropriate services<\/li>\n<li>Workforce support such as employment leads and resume building<\/li>\n<li>Opportunities to get involved with community outreach<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\n\t\tDo you need assistance?
